Friday 5 December 2025 5th December - feeling festive in Year 1 Year 1 have had a wonderfully festive start to December with our annual Deco Day! The classroom was buzzing with excitement as we spent the morning making a range of Christmas crafts. The children created beautiful beaded snowflake decorations, carefully threading beads onto pipe cleaners to make sparkling ornaments. They also made handprint calendars—a lovely keepsake for the year ahead—and worked together to create colourful paper chains that now stretch across our classroom and bring a cheerful, festive feel.

Friday 14 November 2025 14th October - a 'toy-rrific' time! This week, we took part in a fantastic history workshop all about toys from living memory. We also had the chance to explore some Victorian toys and compare them to the ones we play with today.

Friday 17 October 2025 17th October - it's harvest time! This week in Year 1, we had a fun and thoughtful activity where we ordered and grouped toys from the past and present. We discussed which toys our grandparents might have played with, which ones our parents had, and which toys are popular with us now. It was amazing to learn how toys have changed over time and to think about how play has evolved across generations!
