It’s been another busy and exciting week in Year 1! We have really enjoyed our learning about instructions, with a special focus on recipes. This week, we followed the ‘Terrible Tusks’ recipe and made our own fruit kebabs by carefully following the bossy verbs in the instructions. We worked hard to complete each step in the correct order and were very proud of our results. Best of all, we even got to eat our fruit kebabs afterwards – delicious!

We continued our learning in gymnastics by experimenting with different balances. Building on our learning of basic gymnastic shapes from last week, we turned these shapes into poses and balances. Some of them were a little trickier than we expected, but we showed great perseverance and had lots of fun trying them out!

In our creative computing lessons, we got to make our own drag-and-drop games. We have been working hard to develop our mouse control and had the opportunity to design our own scenes and objects that we could drag around the screen. We also learned how to add animations to our objects so they could move up or down, turn around, or even disappear! We were very proud of our creations and enjoyed seeing our games come to life.
