3rd October - A 'bean-tastic' time!

We’ve had a super exciting week in Year 1! Here’s what we’ve been up to:
We’ve been little gardeners this week! Each of us planted our very own beans. We learned what plants need to grow – sunlight, water, and love! We can’t wait to see whose bean grows the tallest, just like Jasper in Jasper's Beanstalk by Jez Alborough. After planting, we became authors and wrote our own instructions on how to plant a bean. We used words like first, next, then, and finally to help someone else know what to do. Great job using bossy (imperative) verbs, Year 1!

Miss Battams set us a fun and clever challenge on Purple Mash this week, during our computing lesson. We completed the task carefully and showed how great we are at using computers, especially the painting app where we decorated our own gingerbread men. These looked so realistic, we wanted to eat them up!

In PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education), we talked about what helps our brains learn best. We discovered that having a good night’s sleep and listening carefully in class helps us remember and understand new things. We then drew pictures about how we personally learn best.
We’re so proud of all the amazing work Year 1 is doing. Keep growing, keep learning, and keep being kind!
