17th October - it's harvest time!
This week in Year 1, we had a fun and thoughtful activity where we ordered and grouped toys from the past and present. We discussed which toys our grandparents might have played with, which ones our parents had, and which toys are popular with us now. It was amazing to learn how toys have changed over time and to think about how play has evolved across generations!
Our Harvest assembly was truly beautiful, and we want to thank all the parents and carers for their support and encouragement. We enjoyed listening to the other classes as they sang and performed, and we were very proud to perform our class song, “A Farmer’s Life for Me,” to everyone. Singing together really brought the harvest spirit to life!
In PSHE, we took some time to reflect on things we are proud of. We shared our achievements and talked about how those moments made us feel inside. Miss Battams surprised us by writing each of us a special “proud token” to celebrate our efforts. Those tokens made us feel warm, happy, and so proud of ourselves.
As part of a very special show and tell, we met Romeo the tortoise! Everyone was so brave giving Romeo a hold and a stroke. Thank you to the Carr family (including Romeo) for making show and tell extra special this week.
