Friday 17 October 2025 Awa Tribe - 17th October 2025 This week in class we extended our geographical understanding and looked at the Awa Tribe. An un-contacted and threatened tribe that live in the Amazon Rainforest (Brazil). In groups we used the knowledge learnt in class and through videos to help us compare our lives with the lives of those living in the tribe. It was a real eye-opener to see and understand how different people live, and gave us a real understanding of how lucky we are to live in a free country. We all felt very strongly about helping the Awa Tribe to continue living their life of harmony and tranquility, so took it upon ourselves to write letters to the Brazilian Justice Minister to pursuade him to help the tribe and stop the illegal activity that is happening in the Amazon rainforest. I couldn't be prouder of the class, they have produced some absolutely beautiful writing and should feel very chuffed with their outcomes.

Friday 3 October 2025 3rd October – Tag Rugby festival On Wednesday, year 5 had the opportunity to take part in a Tag Rugby Festival organised by the DSSN. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to not only learn a new sport, but to practice our theme of teamwork throughout the games. I was so impressed to see the whole class work together throughout the games and to see them fully emersed in this exciting opportunity. It's fair to say we may have a few future rugby players on our hands!

Friday 12 September 2025 12th September - Investigating Forces To start our learning in Science in year 5, we started to investigate forces. The whole class made some fantastic suggestions as to what forces were and were able to names and recognise the 4 main forces. We took our learning outside and did some freeze frames for each of the forces. We all had a great time, and everyone enjoyed some outside learning.
