Thursday 27th November - Becoming Historians

This week in Year 2, we stepped into the shoes of real Historians! We explored a range of primary sources and used them to make inferences about the remarkable Mary Seacole. Through our investigations, we discovered that she was a nurse who set up a hotel to help soldiers during the war. We also learned about her incredible life story and why she is still remembered today for her courage, kindness, and bravery.

In Maths, we have been working extremely hard on our addition skills. We practised adding by making 10 first and then adding the rest — and the children showed fantastic perseverance and progress throughout the week.

To top it all off, we were thrilled to learn that Year 2 made the highest profit in Enterprise Week! This amazing achievement was made possible thanks to everyone’s generosity in buying tickets to watch our show and purchasing our sweet treats. A huge thank you to all who supported us, and well done to Year 2 for the brilliant effort, teamwork, and creativity that made Enterprise Week such a success!
