Literacy: Narrative writing

This week in literacy we have started writing our stories based on the novel ‘Birdsong’.

We have carefully used our plans to write our setting descriptions to introduce the story and the plot. In our descriptions we have used figurative language such as metaphors, similes and personification. We have also though about how we can create mood and atmosphere through our choice of words and phrases as well as including a range of different sentence types such as relative clauses, noun phrase and repetitive sentences. We are looking forward to finishing our stories next week and sharing them with our classmates.
