Friday 9th January - Happy New Year

Happy New Year and welcome back! 🎉
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas break and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. It has been so lovely to see all the children again and to get back into our learning routines. Thank you so much for my lovely gifts you kindly gave to me for Christmas, it was very sweet of you all!

This week, we started our new book in Literacy, Last Stop on Market Street. The children have been exploring exciting vocabulary, focusing on using powerful verbs and expanded noun phrases to create vivid imagery for the reader. They have shared some fantastic ideas and shown great enthusiasm for the story.

In Maths, we have continued working on addition and subtraction, particularly adding across 10. The children have been using concrete resources and pictorial representations to support their understanding and build confidence with these skills.

I am really looking forward to another week full of learning and progress next week. Well done, Year 2 — a great start to the term! 🌟
