Friday 9th January - Fantastical creatures!

This week in Literacy, we have started delving into ‘Arthur Spiderwick’s Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You’ where we have discovered some strange, weird and wonderful creatures including the Cockatrice. This creature is part cockerel and part serpent and it can turn you to stone at just one glance! The children then wrote warning posters to persuade people to beware of the Cockatrice which included persuasive language, ambitious vocabulary, modal verbs and a range of conjunctions.
