Friday 23rd January - Exploring Kenya

Year 2 have had a fantastic week full of exciting learning experiences!
In Geography, we started our new unit all about Kenya. The children learned where Kenya is located in the world and which continent it is part of. Using the research we collected together, the children then created a fact file all about Kenya, sharing interesting information about the country and showing great curiosity and enthusiasm.
In Science, we investigated what is in and around my tree. We used a leaf tick sheet to help us identify which tree we were observing. The children carefully looked at what was on the tree and what was around it. We spotted things such as bird nests and moss growing up the tree trunk. Although it was a very wet and rainy observation, the children really enjoyed exploring outdoors and finding a wide range of living and non-living things.
Well done, Year 2, for a brilliant week of learning and for showing such fantastic observation skills! 🌧️🌿
Have a good weekend all,
Mrs Clewley
