17th April - Eyewitness Interviews

In our literacy topic, we are looking into how to write a newspaper report.

We are reading the book 'Real-Life Mysteries' and began with the book by reading the text 'Scary, Hairy Creatures'.

We looked more in depth at the eyewitness quotes and the case file with all the main theories about Big Foot and the mysteries behind it.

We discussed that an eyewitness is someone who was there when an event happened. They saw or heard something related to the event.

Eyewitnesses share with news reporters and journalists what they experienced, and what they were feeling or thinking at the time of the event.

We used our eyewitness interview sheet to record the questions that we wanted to ask. We made sure to think carefully about which questions will get the most information.

Afterwards, we used role play to act out these roles, taking it in turns to be the eyewitnesses and news reporters. We wrote down the answers to each of our questions to use for our newspapers later on.
