Friday 17th April - Fire Engine Fun!
It was so lovely to welcome the children back after the Easter break—everyone returned with great enthusiasm and ready to learn!
We kicked off the week with a fantastic opera workshop inspired by The Magic Flute. The children had so much fun bringing the story to life, becoming both instruments and characters for the day. They explored singing in different tones and really embraced the opportunity to perform. As part of the experience, they also enjoyed a creative activity where they made beautiful birds out of books.
Later in the week, we turned our focus to Design and Technology, where the children worked incredibly hard to build their own fire engine models out of wood. They carefully joined the pieces together and even created working pivots so that the ladders could move, just like on real fire engines. To finish their projects, they painted their models with great attention to detail, making them look truly realistic.
It has been a wonderful and productive start to the term—well done, Year 2!
Have a lovely weekend all,
Mrs Clewley
