Friday 16th January - Super Science

Year 2 have had a busy and exciting week of learning across the curriculum!
In Computing, we started our new unit all about spreadsheets. We discussed how spreadsheets are used in everyday life and what people might use them for. The children then explored a spreadsheet themselves, learning about cells and using them to create a profile all about themselves and their favourite things. They showed great enthusiasm and confidence when using this new tool.
In Music, we have been learning all about rock music. The children listened to a range of different rock songs and explored how music makes us feel. We worked on moving in time with the beat, finding the pulse and recognising different rhythms, which the children really enjoyed.
In Science, we began our new unit on Living Things and Their Habitats. We took our learning outside and went on a scavenger hunt to find living things, things that were once alive, and things that are not alive. The children showed a good understanding of what to look for when identifying things that were once alive and made some excellent observations.
Well done, Year 2, for another fantastic week of learning! 👏🌱
Have a lovely weekend all,
Mrs Clewley
