Friday 14th November - Cool Curriculum

This week in Year 2 we launched our exciting new History unit, learning all about two remarkable women from the past: Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole. The children became real historians as they explored primary sources to investigate and gather evidence about who Florence Nightingale was. They worked incredibly hard studying each source carefully and used them to answer some tricky questions. Great work, Year 2!

In Science, we learned about William Harbutt, the inventor of Plasticine. We explored how different materials can be changed by pushing and pulling, then discovered how William created Plasticine using these methods. The children loved getting hands-on with their own Plasticine, using pushing and pulling techniques to mould and shape their own models of William Harbutt!

Next week is our exciting Enterprise Week, and we cannot wait to show you what we have been planning. Year 2 will become young entrepreneurs as we work together to create a spectacular event for you all to enjoy.

Please join us next Friday, 21st November, from 2pm for our Enterprise celebration — we would love to see you there!

Have a wonderful weekend all, Mrs Clewley
