Art: Monet

It has been a great week back after the half term break.

We have been learning about impressionism and the artist Monet. We explored some of his famous paintings such as ‘the haystacks’ and ‘the water lilies’. As a class, we discussed the way impressionist artists focus on portraying everyday life, light and movement in their artwork. We were particularly fascinated by the number of times Monet painted the haystacks. We ended the week by producing a replica of Monet’s water lilies painting.
