9th January - Electricity!

We have begun our next topic in Science which is Electricity!

We began by working together to look at whether items were either electrical or non electrical. We drew a table on our whiteboards and cut out the images to put them into our table. 

We then discussed what we found and compared items amongst teams. We then looked at a range of images and discussed what they could all have in common.

We discussed the differences between mains electricity, rechargable batteries and objects that are only powered by batteries that need to be replaced. We then listed appliances that we knew which fitted into each part of our table, and wrote them down. 

We then had an image of a recharable, wind up torch and a solar powered calculator which we needed to label and find how it is powered and what its powered by.
