6th March - World Book Day!

Year 3 had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day! We began the day by admiring everyone’s amazing costumes and then played a fun “What am I?” game using books and characters to guess who we were. After that, the children drew their costumes and shared why they had chosen their characters. Later in the morning, we visited Year 1 with our favourite books and shared them with different children,  it was lovely to see how passionate everyone was about reading. Miss Battams then took Year 3 back to our classroom to read them a story, which they all thoroughly enjoyed. We also had an exciting assembly where the school’s “Masked Reader” was revealed. Afterwards, we watched a live lesson all about World Book Day and completed a range of activities. The children also enjoyed some free time to act out their characters, read and share books in the outside area, and create resources. In the afternoon, we continued the fun with lots of creative activities including acting, colouring, making bookmarks, designing book covers and completing word searches. It was a wonderful day filled with books, imagination and lots of fun! 📚✨

I hope you have a lovely, sunny weekend!

Miss Bulley
