6th March - Book Day

Year 4 had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day! The day was full of creativity, reading and lots of fun activities.

We started the morning by drawing pictures of ourselves dressed as some of our favourite book characters. It was great to see everyone’s imagination, from magical wizards to starbird's, princesses and other amazing creatures.

Next, we designed our own book front covers or drew scenes from our favourite books. We thought carefully about titles, pictures and colours to make our covers eye-catching and exciting, just like real authors and illustrators do.

Later, we joined the live World Book Day event and took part in the Reading Vibe challenges. We listened carefully, shared ideas and enjoyed being part of a big celebration of reading with children from all over.

In the afternoon, we spent some time outside drawing the front covers of books that we enjoy. These will be used to create a Book Recommendation Box in our reading corner, so that everyone can discover new books their classmates love.
