3rd October - Waterproof rocks!
This week in Science, we looked closely at a range of rocks and explored the permeability through an exciting experiment. We identified what permeable and impermeable means and the children were able to give examples of rocks from previous lessons, sandstone, granite and chalk. Using pipets, the children carefully added water to each rock and observed what happened. They recorded whether the water was absorbed or ran off the surface, helping them determine which rocks were permeable and which were not. The children were excited to see the results of their experiment, for example, sandstone soaked up water easily, while the water on granite stayed visible.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
