3rd October - Amazing Authors!
What a fantastic week it’s been in Year 2! Our literacy lessons have been buzzing with creativity as the children planned, drafted, edited, and published their own stories inspired by the charming book The Frog and the Stranger. I was so impressed to see how everyone included exciting vocabulary and used conjunctions to add extra detail—making their stories truly come alive.
But that’s not all! We’ve also been practicing our Harvest song, and the children are really excited to perform it for you in just a couple of weeks. It’s shaping up to be a wonderful celebration!
In RE, we explored the importance of symbols in places of worship. The children engaged in some brilliant discussions, showing great curiosity and respect for different beliefs and traditions.
Finally in PE, we’ve been busy building our cheerleading skills and working on our ball skills. The children have learned how to perform the perfect underarm throw and catch balls correctly, which they’ve enjoyed mastering.
It’s been a week full of learning, creativity, and fun—well done Year 2!
Have a wonderful weekend all,
Mrs Clewley
