27th February - Spy Booklet
This week in Year 4, we have been learning about life in Britain before the Roman invasion.

We created our own spy booklets filled with interesting facts about what Britain was like before the Romans arrived. We wrote detailed pages about:
-
Settlements – We learned that people lived in small villages and roundhouses made from wood, straw and mud.
-
Jobs – Many people were farmers, hunters and craftspeople. They grew crops, kept animals and made their own tools.
-
Hill forts – We discovered that hill forts were built on high ground to protect people from enemies. They had strong walls and ditches for defence.
-
Landscapes – Britain had forests, rivers and open land, very different from the towns and cities we see today.

At the end of our booklets, we drew a detailed picture to show one of these aspects. Some of us drew hill forts, others drew roundhouses or farming scenes.
