26th September - Super Scientists
This week in Year 2 has been full of exciting learning and hands-on activities!
Bouncy Ball Science Experiment
In our science lessons, we conducted a super fun experiment to find out which material makes the bounciest ball. The children made their own predictions before testing a variety of balls made from different materials. Using metre sticks, we carefully measured how high each ball bounced. It was fascinating to see how some materials bounced much higher than others! Everyone enjoyed making their guesses and seeing if they were right.
Exploring Our Local Area in Geography
Our geography lesson took us outside for a local walk. We explored the neighbourhood and looked closely at different human features around us. The children spotted detached houses, terrace houses, flats, shops, parks, and much more. It was a great way to connect what we learn in the classroom with the real world around us.
Cheerleading Skills in PE
In PE, we have been learning new cheerleading skills. The children have been working hard to choreograph routines that include exciting stunts. It’s been fantastic to see how well they’re collaborating and using the skills learned in our sessions to create fabulous performances.
I am so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic Year 2 have been this week. Can’t wait to see what next week brings!
Have a lovely weekend all,
Mrs Clewley
