26th September: Geography - Understanding biomes
This week in class we have been looking further into our Geography unit on Brazil.
To start of this lesson we discussed the question ‘What is a biome’ we found out that a biome is a large region of Earth that has a certain climate and certain types of living things. The main types are: Tundra, Desert, Savannah, Grassland, and Tropical Rainforest. To help us develop our knowledge further on this we played a game about the animals we could find in each biome.
To help us understand more about the layers of the amazon rainforest, we created our own information sheets in our groups. We had to identify the different layers within the rainforest and describe what they were like including adding what animals lived there.
Just a reminder that next week we have our Tag Rugby trip on Wednesday morning, please make sure that your child comes into school in PE kit ready for the event.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Croucher
