23rd October - Toys, Treasures and Talented Artists!
What a fantastic final week of our half term! The children have been busy learning, creating and exploring, and we have had a wonderful time bringing our learning to life.
This week, we enjoyed a very special History Off The Page workshop, where our school hall was transformed into a real-life toy museum! The children loved exploring toys from the past, discovering how they were different from the toys we play with today. They had the opportunity to handle and investigate a range of artefacts before getting creative and making their very own toys. It was a brilliant way to bring our history learning to life and help us understand how toys have changed over time.
We also had our very first art week, giving the children lots of opportunities to get creative, experiment with different techniques and express themselves through their artwork. I have loved seeing their imaginations shine and watching their confidence grow as young artists!
It has been a busy and exciting first half term in Year 1, and I am so proud of how the children have settled into their new routines, embraced new challenges and continued to grow as learners.
I hope everyone has a lovely, restful half term break. I look forward to welcoming the children back for another exciting half term full of learning and adventures!
Have a lovely half term.
