21 November - Enterprise Day at Two Waters
Enterprise Day at Two Waters was the culmination of a week-long project for every class. Each class was tasked with creating a product or service over the course of the week and to then 'sell' their product on the final Friday to the wider school community. It was a competitive activity with classes aiming to turn their 'start-up loan' into profit. Pupils designed, created, packaged and marketed their products using a wide range of skills such as researching, creative thinking, collaboration, budgeting, evaluating risk, pricing, influencing and persuading customers, and adapting their offers based on feedback. Classes produced bird houses, hand-made soaps, hand-made candles and individually designed tote bags to name a few. In addition, one class opened a cafe for the afternoon and another held a cheerleading display whilst selling refreshments. Many children commented on how proud they felt to take on real responsibilities and to see their ideas come to fruition. All the children worked incredibly hard and it was Year 2 who took home the ultimate prize of making the most profit! All classes will be able to re-invest their profit to support future teaching and learning!
