Monday 23 June 2025 18th June - Sports Day What a fantastic day we had today. The sun was shining and the children were so excited to take part in our Sports Day. The team events in the morning showed Year 1's ability to work together and they thoroughly enjoyed the competitive races in the afternoon! Congratulations to Chess who won this year!

Friday 24 January 2025 24th January - It's Literacy, but not as we know it! I have thoroughly enjoyed my first week with Year 1 – thank you for making me feel so welcome. Year 1 are a fantastic cohort and have already impressed me with their enthusiasm for learning. We have had a busy week and perhaps one of the highlights came on Wednesday when the children donned their wellington boots and headed out to the mud kitchen. The purpose was to practice using ‘command words’ (imperative verbs) whilst creating their own mud pies. Amongst the excitement of creating fantastic pies (and one soup!), the children confidently gave examples of how to use command words, building accurate sentences that they will be able to use in their writing next week. There are a few photos below.
