24th January - It's Literacy, but not as we know it!

Year 1 have had a busy week and perhaps one of the highlights came on Wednesday when the children donned their wellington boots and headed out to the mud kitchen. The purpose was to practice using ‘command words’ (imperative verbs) whilst creating their own mud pies. Amongst the excitement of creating fantastic pies (and one soup!), the children confidently gave examples of how to use command words, building accurate sentences that they will be able to use in their writing next week.
