Governor Profiles

Andy Townsend (Chair of Governors)
BSc (Hons) Physics

"The school ethos of 'Proud to achieve, proud to care' has always resonated strongly with me," says Andy.  "I have always wanted to contribute to and support the school that my children were attending and to support my local community."  With thorough attention to detail, a cooperative approach and a knowledge of technology and data governance, Andy is well placed to lead our Governing Board.  Although recently retired, his career highlights include creating one of the largest global scholarly online publishing sites and holding the role of Head of Architecture at BMJ (a global healthcare knowledge provider).  If you ask colleagues and friends to describe Andy, the words 'organised', 'rational' and 'cheerful' spring to mind.  Andy brings a strong focus on detail and a desire to understand why things do or don't happen - providing an effective sounding board for our school.

Matthew Domine (Vice Chair of Governors)
BA (Hons) Music Technology; PGCE Secondary Education; MA Music Education; Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching

As you may be able to tell from the prestigious qualifications above, Matthew is a music specialist, starting his career as a secondary school music teacher in school in Rickmansworth and Brent, before progressing to Head of Music.  He became a member of the Senior Leadership Team in his current school, before being appointed as Deputy Principal, leading on behaviour and attitudes.  For the past three years, Matthew has been the Senior Deputy Principal, leading on the quality of education.  "With 18 years of valuable knowledge and experience behind me, I wanted to be able to positively contribute to a school in my local area, supporting the leaders and teachers to give their pupils the best start to their educational journeys.  I love the high expectations the school has for all their children, regardless of their backgrounds."

Tracy Holford
CIMA Qualified Accountant

Tracy is our link Finance Governor and with her vast experience of management accountancy across a broad range of industries such as asset management, retail and education, she is perfectly suited to support and guide the school.  In addition, Tracy has previous experience as a School Business Manager at a grammar school, enabling her to bring her wealth of business experience to the Governing Body.  One of Tracy's core beliefs is that you are never too old to learn.  Tracy's drive to join the Two Waters Governing Board is testament to this belief.  "When I had my first son," comments Tracy, "I had no idea about how the primary school system worked.  I thought joining a Governing Board would be a great opportunity to learn and to contribute to my local community at the same time."  Tracy's keen eye for detail enables her to question and challenge the little things, which in turn contribute to the bigger picture of continuous improvement.  When asked what she loves about Two Waters school, Tracy praises the enthusiasm of the staff, how they remember every child's name and even know which child belongs to which parent!

Sophie Carr
BA English Literature; PGCE Secondary Education

Loyal, diligent, organised and proactive are just some of the key qualities that Sophie brings with her to the Governing Board.  With over 15 years in education (in both class teacher and leadership roles) in a range of schools (including an all boys school in St Albans and a secondary school in Hemel Hempstead), Sophie has her finger firmly on the pulse of the latest thinking and trends in the education sector.  Her knowledge of literacy in particular enables her to support Two Waters effectively, offering a professional sounding board and ideas for new initiatives.  Sophie comments:  "I have a long history with Two Waters Primary School, having attended the school myself.  My daughters are currently enrolled at the school and I have always loved the kind, caring and inclusive community that it fosters."

Kim Bisok
BSc (Hons) Psychology; PGCE Primary Education, QTS

As our EYFS link governor, Kim is ideally placed to fulfill this role, given her eight years of teaching in an outstanding primary school in London, which includes managing a large team and teaching and leading a 100+ place nursery.  "I am passionate about children's right to a good, fun and inclusive education and I believe that strong foundations in the early years is key to a successful school journey.  This is why I lead with integrity, compassion and persistence in everything I do," states Kim.  It is Kim's values of integrity, compassion and persistence that enable her to challenge others in order to support the best interests of pupils, staff and the wider community, fulfilling a key responsibility of a Governing Board member.
